The Horizon’s Hum

Concluding the extreme, enhanced footwear parkour sequence. I tried to convey the lyrics with the line style on this page, because how else do you convey blurred figments with a pen? Anyhow, these lyrical pages are a tease for what’s to come!

Perspective 101

I’m basically making it up as I go, and getting in practice with fundamentals! Perspective is always fun, especially when you mix it with surrealism.

Gotta keep sharp

I loved drawing this full page spread, not only for showing Emily’s childlike playfulness with her environment but it presented a perfect opportunity to break away from typical backgrounds while drawing a comic book panel. There will be plenty of of scenes depicting the city, but for a music video-esque sequence, why not have the environment take a cue from the lyrics instead?

the bleeding edge

This sequence works better when you can hear the music. But for now, it serves as a glimpse of lyrical comic pages to come. Imagine Emily running at break-neck speed through the neighborly streets of Metro Bay.

ready.. set.. go!

The idea behind this page was a third person view of Emily, superimposed on a 3-panel layout in first person to embody the feeling of dashing at a dizzying speed, first down the side alley of Bunny Brews, then turning down the main alleyway, THEN down a Main Street. Lyrics to follow.
