This page mixes the lyrics sequence with the narrative’s dialogue, and probably my personal favorite of these lyrics pages, especially when going back and reading these pages in sequence while Rabbit Junk’s song is going. It just feels right. Hope you like it, JP & SG. 😀

Creating the lyrics art for this page was really fun. I had this idea where they are streaming out from all possible outlets in the frames depicted; the sunroof and the backdoor, and it seemed like a cool idea to have the last panel present the lyrics from both outlets simultaneously. Makes sense, right? I think it’s safe to say Misty has successfully given that guard the slip.

Not much to say about this page, just the beginning of the lyrics sequence for “Xenon” by Rabbit Junk! Moonlight is the main light source here so lots of white space, and I was aiming to make the lyrics appear as if they’re floating away as Sum Grrl sings them.

The following 3 pages after this one were actually drawn before this page was decided. I knew I needed to show how Misty ends up at her uh.. destination. I just didn’t know how yet. This made the most sense considering Ms. Bries’ skill set. Lyrics are represented with pink in the comic, so it made the most sense that spoken word – particularly a quote – in a song should be represented in a different way. Black it is, Mr. Durden.

Creating Misty was such a fun experience. Em needed a rival, but not a onesided role. She’s fun, she’s spontaneous and a little over-the-top when it comes to parkour. So much in fact, that she’s had more than her share of encounters with authorities. More on her in the next few pages. 😉

Concluding the extreme, enhanced footwear parkour sequence. I tried to convey the lyrics with the line style on this page, because how else do you convey blurred figments with a pen? Anyhow, these lyrical pages are a tease for what’s to come!
